May 02, 2007 -- ARLINGTON, Va. – Nationwide travel plaza chain, Petro Stopping Centers (Petro) and the USO have announced two fundraising partnerships.
Throughout May, a one dollar donation will be made to the USO for every Chicken Fried Steak dinner ordered at any of Petro’s 54 Iron Skillet Restaurants nationwide. In addition, Iron Skillet Restaurants will be selling USO window decals for $1.00. All proceeds raised will support USO programs and services for military personnel and their families.
“We want to continue to do well for the community and support our troops in Iraq,” said Jim Cardwell, President of Petro Stopping Centers. “We also want to give our customers an opportunity to contribute to the community.”
USO president and CEO Edward A. Powell said: “We are excited about this promotion with Petro Stopping Centers. With their support, the USO can continue to make a difference in the lives of service members and their families.”
The Iron Skillet’s Chicken Fried Steak is a signature menu item and an all-American favorite. Made from individually cut steaks, hand battered, deep fried, topped with hearty cream gravy and served with a side dish of home-style mash potatoes, and soup and salad bar is a great value entrée priced at $8.99 at most locations.
