Atlas Van drivers vote Petro their Favorite Truck Stop Chain

Annual survey rates van operator preferences
September 10, 2006 -- EVANSVILLE, Ind. – A recent survey by Atlas Van Lines shows more Atlas van operators prefer El Paso, Texas-based Petro than any other truck stop chain. In the 2006 “King of the Road” Atlas van operator survey, 43 percent of respondents said they preferred Petro, edging Flying J by five percent.
“Our van operators are hard working and dedicated individuals who spend nearly the entire year on the road,” said Greg Hoover, Atlas senior vice president and chief marketing officer. “This survey is a fun way to gain insight about where they fuel-up, where they eat, what they listen to on the radio and how they communicate when they’re away from home for weeks and months at a time.”
Petro has won the truck stop category in all five years of the Atlas survey.
Atlas Van Lines – the nation’s second largest van line – announces the results of its annual survey each September in conjunction with ROAD Day, an Atlas celebration that thanks its van operators. Of its 3,400 van operators, 81 percent will log more than 50,000 miles on the road transporting Atlas’ corporate and residential customers’ possessions and business materials.
